Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt certainly never encounters any problems talking about her experiences and her desires. Most recently, the actress stated that for her, an Academy Award was as important and dreamy as marriage was for most girls. In response to a question as to when she wanted to get married, Alia replied:-
“I only think about that one day when I am standing in front of people, receiving an Oscar. What marriage is for most girls, an Oscar is for me.”
Alia also spoke about her latest movie Udta Punjab, stating that the film was much more than just mere substance abuse.
“Udta Punjab is not only about heroin or cocaine, but also about other substances which when used in a particular way can cause great harm to the body,” she said. She also stated that everyone knew one or more people who abused substances.
The actress was all praise for her Udta Punjab co-star Shahid Kapoor, stating that he portrayed Tommy Singh, a substance abusing rock star with conviction and finesse even though he was not a drinker in real life.
“He’s never even had a sip of alcohol in his life but he played this completely whacked-out character with so much conviction. When I saw him for the first time on the sets, I freaked out,” she disclosed.
And what does she think about her own performance in the flick?
“I had no emotions to tap into. It took lots of discussions with Abhishek (Chaubey, director). He gave me the perspective I didn’t have. Then, I made it my own. I could never react naturally, the way Pinky, my character, does.”
We’d certainly like to see Shahid and Alia’s performances in Udta Punjab now!
