AMPANG: Veteran actress Lydiawati found herself in the dock for allegedly hurting a female trader with an iron rod at a hotel here two months ago.
Lydiawati, 51, whose real name was Salina Zaimon, claimed trial at the Magistrate’s Court here today to hurting Sharifah Harnizam Wan Musa, 43, with a dangerous weapon on March 24.
Lydiawati was accused of committing the offence at a hotel at Lot 52, Jalan Mamanda 9 here, at 6.30pm.
Sharifah lodged a police report on the same day she was allegedly hurt by the accused.
Lydiawati faces a maximum 10 years’ jail and fine if found guilty under Section 324 of the Penal Code.
Magistrate Hadlina A. Raof granted RM3,300 bail with one surety, and set June 24 for mention of the case.
