As tensions between India and Pakistan escalate, the entertainment industry has also fallen prey to the empty rhetoric and hypocrisy that often comes attached with the decades-old rivalry.
An Indian journalist started the stream of reactions when he called for Fawad Khan to be thrown out of India following the Uri base attack which left 18 soldiers dead.
Following his tirade, others, including Indian national party Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) called for a ban on Pakistani actors. And it now seems some fans are also following suit.

Lucky for us, some of our stars are actually calling out the haters for their vitriol. When someone left a distasteful comment on Mahira Khan’s Instagram, she found the perfect comeback one that both Indians and Pakistanis can relate to.
“Apko india se abhi danday nahi paray,” (You have yet to be beaten up by India), said a user named Saamiii786.
Mahira’s reply: “Aap ko apni ammi say parhe hotay toh iss tara ki bakwaas nahi kehte.” (If your mother would have beaten you up, you wouldn’t have uttered such nonsense).

It didn’t take long for Mahira’s army of fans to come forward and take care of the rest.
We bet he didn’t see that coming.
