2) Winter generally calls for a whole lot of partying and wedding – occasions you don’t really want to be wearing a heavy overcoat at. So why not wrap a beautiful hand-embroidered stole or crystal-laden scarf over a black dress to stand out in the crowd? Pair this with stockings, boots and smokey eye makeup to glam it up.

4) Some of you might think this odd but scarves can also be used to accessorize your hair. Make a messy bun and then roll the scarf all over it to make a knot. Insider tip: this is a great way to save a bad hair day and add a bohemian vibe to your look.

5) Try out the bow – an elegant way of draping a scarf. Keep one side of the piece longer than the other and make a loop in the upward direction, hiding the end. Make a bow by holding the scarf in the centre. Now, take the shorter side of scarf and wrap it around the bow. When done, bring the end of the shorter side of the scarf around the bow and through the middle. When the scarf comes out on the other side, pull it to make the bow tighter.

6) Who said scarves were meant for just your upper body? People have been adorning dresses with long scarves too, letting them fall over the front and cinching them at the waist with a narrow belt. Add heels to this style and it’ll add a few extra inches to your height.

7) If you’re going for a professional look, enhance it by draping a scarf around the neck and tucking the loop under the collar of the blazer/jacket. You can leave the buttons open as well. Also, if your outfit is black overall, go for a brighter scarf for colour.

8) Traditional is more your thing? Don’t worry! Go for scarf necklaces in contrasting colours. Make a basic loop, take one end and twist it several times around the loop, ending at the centre front. Repeat it on the other side and then knot the ends at the centre. If that’s too complication, simply drape a stole with your jora as a dupatta.

9) Do it like the French do. Just fold the scarf in half and put it around your shoulders. Take one loose end and pull it over and under the scarf loop. Take the other end and go under and over the same loop.

10) If you want to keep your head warm but not wear an unbecoming hat, wrap a scarf on the back of your head and bring it in front. Make a crisscross and then again take it back and tie a knot. Tuck in the left of the scarf under the knotted area and voila! You’ve got some super stylish headgear.
