HONG KONG: Hong Kong and Shanghai stocks slipped in the morning Thursday as investors in Asia moved cautiously, with sentiment on the mainland still weak amid concerns about the slowing Chinese economy.
The Hang Seng Index shed 0.19 percent or 39.35 points to 20,328.7.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index lost 0.97 percent, or 27.37 points, to 2,787.72, while the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China’s second exchange, fell 1.61 percent, or 28.98 points, to 1,771.25.
