HONG KONG: Shares tumbled in Shanghai and Hong Kong Friday, capping a miserable week as worries about the global economy returned, while investors await a key US jobs report later in the day.
The Hang Seng Index in Hong Kong sank 1.66 percent, or 339.95 points, to 20,109.87.
And the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index slumped 2.82 percent, or 84.59 points, to 2,913.25 while the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China’s second exchange, tumbled 3.65 percent, or 70.93 points, to 1,871.61.
