QUETTA: Body of Wali Muhammad, who died in an attack on a car on Saturday, was handed over to a man who identified himself as his nephew two days ago, sources said on Tuesday.
The sources in Quetta’s Civil Hospital said the body was handed over to Rafique, who introduced himself as nephew of the deceased and a resident of Balochistan’s Qilla Abullah area, in the presence of Levies personnel.
The man could not be reached when his cell number was dialed for comments by journalists.
Preliminary reports suggested that Wali Muhammad and another man who was driving the car died when the vehicle caught fire.
The bodies were shifted from Noshki to Quetta where postmortem report revealed both the bodies were charred due to an explosion.
However, the US on Saturday said a car was targeted by unmanned drone in Pak-Afghan border region, purportedly killing chief of Afghan Taliban Mullah Akhtar Mansour.
Though Islamabad has not confirmed media accounts of the attack, it is widely believed that the Taliban chief was using alias of Wali Muhammad on his travel documents.
