KARACHI: Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali on Saturday directed Sindh´s Chief Secretary, Inspector General Police (IGP) and Director General Rangers to make efforts for the earliest recovery of Owais Ali Shah, the son of Justice Sajjad Ali Shah, Chief Justice, Sindh High Court.
The Chief Justice held separate meetings with chief secretary and home secretary, IGP, DG Rangers and other police officers belonging to operation and investigation wings, at Karachi registry of the apex court.
Justice Jamali was apprised by all the officers about the measures taken by the Sindh government and respective law enforcement agencies for the recovery of the abductee.
Showing serious concern over the issue, the Chief Justice of Pakistan directed the government and law enforcers to take effective and concerted measures to ensure the recovery of Owais.
Justice Jamali said that the kidnapping of the lawyer had sent a wrong message to the general public and had also caused disappointment and sense of insecurity amongst the judges and their families.
He directed the chief secretary to utilise all resources to ensure improvement in the law and order situation in the province in general and Karachi in particular.
