KARACHI: A Manchester-bound plane with 150 passengers onboard made emergency landing at the Jinnah International Airport after its tyre burst during take off at Islamabad’s Benazir International Airport on Friday.
All lights on runway at Karachi airport were illuminated, with two fire tenders and ambulance deployed near runway as the Shaheen Air flight flew on low altitude before the emergency landing.
Sources told Geo News that the front tyre of the plane burst as it lifted off from Islamabad. Staff of the control tower was inspecting the affected tyre with binoculars during low-altitude flight.
A spokesman for the airline said passengers would be taken to Manchester via alternate plane.
