KARACHI: Rangers killed two alleged militants near the Northern Bypass on Sunday night as police took into custody five suspects from various areas of the city.
According to details, Rangers conducted a search operation at Khairabad near the Northern Bypass when the alleged militants opened fire on them. The slain terrorists allegedly belonged to banned outfit Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan.
SHO Manghopir Ghulam Hussain Korai revealed that the slain militants were involved in attacks on police and rangers personnel.
On the other hand, police arrested three suspects after an alleged encounter from Karachi’s Korangi Zaman Town area. According to SSP Tanveer Odhi, the suspects had killed an army official for resisting robbery a couple of days ago.
Police also arrested two suspects from Karachi’s Orangi Town area. One person was shot to death at Shah Faisal Colony while a 22-year old man was injured when his car was fired upon at Gulistan-e-Jauhar’s Rabia City area.
