Eight-year-old Afra, her 10 year old sister Nimra and eight-year-old cousin Mohammed Ali were found dead in a house in Orangi Town Sector 10 on Tuesday, police officials earlier said.
The arrested suspect, Hasnain, son of Muhammed Ayub, was an employee of the girls’ father, Muhammad Sharifuddin, who owned a catering shop.
The catering shop is located on the ground floor of the building where the children were found strangled to death.
“An First-Information Report has been lodged at the Mominabad Police Station under sections 302, 454 and 380 of the Pakistan Penal Code, since after the murder a robbery also took place in which some cash was stolen.”
“Further actions on this front, as per relevant legal procedure, are in motion,” said the SSP while addressing a press conference today.
The SSP termed the arrest a “big challenge” for the police. “We examined the scene, the dead bodies, questioned people in the area, observed their mobile phones and monitored the activities of all the people present in the area.”
