Sony is going to reveal not one but two new consoles at its September 7 event in New York, according to a recent report.
The report comes after news of a gaming console that went up for sale on eBay led people to believe that the company is launching a slimmer update to the Play Station 4 and not a new flagship device.
Is this what the new Play Station console looks like?
The two devices would include a cheaper PS 4 slim version possibly like the one we saw earlier today and a new high-end version that will support games with 4K resolution.
Sony aims to attract hardcore gaming fans as well as casual users with this new strategy given that the tech giant is releasing its new gaming console a month after rival firm Microsoft. Microsoft revealed a new slimmer version of its Xbox lineup last month. Called the Xbox One S, the new console also features 4K graphics.
Leaner Xbox One model plays for gamers
Sony had confirmed earlier that it was working on a new console codenamed Neo which would have better graphics and a faster processor than the current Play Station 4.
Sony has said it plans to ship more than 20 million PlayStation 4 units in the year ending March 2017, up from 17.7 million in the previous year.
