Bilawal Bhutto flexes in tweets dedicated to mother

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Sunday urged the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz to not make the mistake of taking him lightly.

Responding to those who target him for being too young, Bilawal cheekily admitted he was a ‘kid’. “The kid of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto. “Be scared of me.”

Bilawal has often been the victim of jibes at his young age and political opponents regularly shun him aside for being “a child.” However, the young PPP chairman, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, is becoming increasingly mobile, vocal and articulate. It’s not just in the virtual world, he is making his presence felt in the real world, too.

Bilawal hints at hunting down ‘tiger’

He is reorganising his party, leading public rallies, touring cities outside his party’s powerhouse, and firing broadsides at political rivals every now and then. He is establishing, or at least trying to establish, himself as the leader of a party which is trying to re-emerge on the country’s political landscape dominated by Imran Khan and the Sharif family.

Earlier today, Bilawal also tweeted a picture of his parent’s wedding with the caption, “My parents should be celebrating their 29th wedding anniversary. Terrorists and their facilitators robbed us of this but we won’t back down.”

Today, would have been the 29th wedding anniversary of Pakistan’s only female prime minister, Benazir Bhutto, to former president Asif Ali Zardari.

The making of another Bhutto to salvage PPP

Benazir Bhutto, the twice-serving prime minister, was assassinated on December 27, 2007 as she left a political rally in Rawalpindi. Benazir was shot as she stood in the open sunroof of a car and waved to crowds. Seconds later a suicide attacker detonated his bomb, damaging one of the cars in her motorcade, killing more than 20 people.
