LAHORE: A Chinese language laboratory has been established at the department of humanities in University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore.
Chinese Consul General in Lahore Yu Boren inaugurated the laboratory on Wednesday.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Boren said China wanted deep-rooted ties with regional countries and Pakistan was on its top priority list.
He said the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) had potential to translate the historic friendship into socio-economic development of the area.
He also said that linkage through academia would enable both sides to share knowledge, expertise and technologies with each other.
Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Fazal Ahmad Khalid said the Chinese language was an essential element to learn this mode of communication for effective interaction and opportunity to learn the secret of success.
