PML-N MNA ‘quits’ in protest

FAISALABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz MNA Mian Farooq has tendered his resignation from the National Assembly seat in protest against the party decision of awarding the district council chairman ticket to a ‘turncoat’ by rejecting his son Qasim Farooq.

Mr Farooq told Dawn that his father had mentioned in the letter that he had started his political career with the PML-N and was now saying goodbye to it in protest against the party decision of selecting Zahid Nazir as the candidate for the district council seat. He said he had no information why the party had ignored the sacrifices of the family and rejected his (Qasim’s) name.
