ISLAMABAD: In their search for Tayyaba, the minor housemaid allegedly tortured by the family of an Islamabad additional district and sessions judge, capital police have so far brought in two suspects for questioning.

In addition, investigators have compiled a list of over a dozen mobile phone numbers, which is being used to trace the whereabouts of Mohammad Azam and Nusrat Bibi, the couple purported to be Tayyaba’s parents who had taken her away submitting affidavits of a compromise with the ADSJ’s family.

While police teams have been unable to locate the missing family, at least two people have been brought to Islamabad after being picked up in raids in the twin cities, Lahore, Faisalabad and Jaranwala.

Those in custody include Tayyaba’s paternal aunt identified as Pathana Bibi and the son of a woman who supposedly secured Tayyaba’s employment at ADSJ Raja Khurram Ali Khan’s residence.

An officer privy to the investigation told Dawn: “Investigators have 12 to 15 mobile numbers, through which the girl and her parents are being traced.”

Law enforcement officials are also reviewing footage from the Safe City CCTV cameras to track the movement of Tayyaba and her purported parents from the courtroom when the girl was handed over to her father.

Investigators have also approached the National Database and Registration Authority to obtain the family tree of the girl’s father and track down their other relatives.
