Unidentified assailants opened fire and killed two people in Quetta’s Satellite Town area on Sunday evening, reported DawnNews.
Police officials said the gunmen were on a motorcycle when they opened fire and critically injured two tribal locals.
The injured were rushed to the Civil Hospital in Quetta but they succumbed to their injuries.
The motive behind the attack remains to be ascertained. The assailants escaped unhurt from the crime scene.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the killing. Police and personnel from other law enforcement agencies reached the spot and an investigation is underway.
Balochistan has been experiencing incident violence and targeted killings since more than a decade. More than 1,400 incidents targeting the minority Shia and Hazara community have taken place in the province during the past 15 years.
While sectarian terrorism in Balochistan has disproportionately targeted the Hazara community, easily identifiable because of their distinctive physical appearance, other Shias especially pilgrims travelling to and from Iran have not been spared either.
