Woman pilot safe Trainer aircraft meets with accident |

LAHORE, July 5: A light trainer aircraft of a private company met with an accident during an exercise at the Walton Airport on Thursday evening, leaving a female trainee pilot slightly injured.
DIG (Operations) Rai Muhammad Tahir told Dawn the plane was landing at the runaway just before sunset when it developed some fault.
According to a Civil Aviation Authority official, the trainee pilot, Mehrunissa, was on a solo flight when the aircraft developed some technical problem. The pilot informed the control tower about her inability to land, the official said.
He said she was asked to try landing at the Falcon Jogging Track and jump out of the aircraft.
Accordingly, the pilot jumped off the plane when it touched the jogging track before it careened off and crashed into the side fence.
The pilot who had minor injuries was provided first aid by a rescue team.
According to a police officer who examined the scene of the accident, the pilot was doing landing-takeoff exercise when the plane got off balance due to air pressure.
He said the trainee pilot jumped out of the plane when it just touched the track and remained safe.
