English county side Hampshire kicked off their NatWest T20 blast campaign in style courtesy Shahid Afridi’s three wickets and a quick fire 21.
Pakistan’s star all-rounder ended up with figures of 3 for 33 including the key scalp of Daniel Bell-Drummond to defeat Kent by a nine-run margin.
Earlier, in the first innings, Afridi came in after the fourth wicket fell to help a struggling Hampshire batting line reach a respectable total of 158 for 8 by adding 21 off 14 balls which included two boundaries.
Afridi’s Peshawar Zalmi teammate also contributed a valuable 27 runs to ensure Hampshire’s victory.
